The Democrat-controlled Illinois Senate approved a new congressional map Tuesday that could erase gains made by Republicans. Following a partisan 34-25 vote, the map is now headed to Governor Pat Quinn’s desk.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel said today that he agreed with the decision Monday by Chicago police to close North Avenue Beach after several people began showing signs of heat-related sickness.
