    Four men–with their hands, feet and mouths bound with duct tape–were found shot to death last night in a garage in Chicago ‘s West Lawn neighborhood. “Multiple weapons” were found at the scene in the 6100 block of South Kildare Avenue, police said, but the motive for the slayings was not known.     Four men died Thursday night after being shot about 8:30 p.m. in the garage of a home in Chicago ‘s West Lawn neighborhood, police and fire officials said.     Women arrested in theft of rare birds

    One woman has been arrested and two other individuals may face charges related to a string of bird thefts in the western suburbs. As of Thursday morning, the birds were on their way back to their owners after Bolingbrook police said all the stolen birds were located in Berwyn. Read more in TribLocal .

    Ex-Crown Point teacher sentenced for fondling student

    A former Crown Point middle school health teacher was sentenced today to six months in prison for fondling one his students. Eric Winn, 27, had pleaded guilty to child solicitation last week.

    2 police officers wounded on South Side

    Two police officers were shot and wounded shortly after midnight near 77th and Hoyne Avenue, officials said. Two officers wounded by gunfire were taken by police vehicles to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, according to Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford

    Police: Slain West Side teen was not intended target

    A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot Saturday night as a suspect was chasing a different person in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side . At 8:39 p.m., police found a teen shot twice in the chest in the 900 block of North Harding Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.

    Family, friends mourn Marine killed in Afghanistan

    Before he was killed last week in Afghanistan, Kevin Oratowski was a shy, sometimes stubborn kid who ultimately found pride and purpose in the Marine Corps, his family and friends said Saturday. The life of the 23-year-old Marine lance corporal from Wheaton was celebrated through laughter and tears at a 90-minute funeral service in Glen Ellyn attended by about 200 mourners

    Cops: Man killed after shooting at police, stealing squad car

    What began as a hit-and-run incident ended in the shooting death of a Plano man who fired on police, stole a squad car and led them on a chase Friday night in and near the Kendall County village, officials said. Bjorn Roland, 40, of the 200 block of Keller Street in the Kendall County village, was declared dead at a local hospital after the chase and shooting, which began after a hit-and run about 8:38 p.m., according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
